Her Story
About Miakia
From a young age, I always knew I wanted to help people. That passion led me into healthcare, where I have spent more than 25 years serving as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Throughout my journey, my heart has always been centered on giving back and making a positive impact in the lives of those around me. As I sought God’s direction for my life, I felt called to step out on faith, and pursue a path aligned with His purpose for me. Along the way, I learned that sometimes the greatest growth comes from changing your mindset - believing in possibilities beyond what you can see and holding on to faith when the road becomes difficult. In challenging seasons, I continually remind myself of my “why” which is to uplift, inspire, and encourage others.
That purpose led me to create The Pink Heart Warrior Glam, an initiative that provides complimentary makeover services every October to women fighting cancer. I want to help them feel beautiful, confident, and empowered during their journey. Whether through healthcare, beauty, community service, or advocacy, my mission remains the same - to serve others with compassion and purpose. I am dedicated to making a difference in the world, one life at a time, and inspiring others to believe that with faith, perseverance, and purpose, anything is possible.

Ten minutes with Miakia
01What do you attribute your success to?
The foundation of my success has been my faith in God, a determination to never give up, and a mindset that embraces possibility. I’ve learned that challenges are often opportunities for growth, and through every obstacle, I have trusted God’s guidance and timing. By shifting my mindset to believe that all things are possible with God, I found the courage to pursue my purpose and succeed. Even through difficult seasons I continue moving forward with faith, confidence, and hope.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to “Do It Afraid.” Fear will always try to stand in the way of growth, but courage is moving forward despite it. I’ve also learned to not compare my journey to anyone else’s, because every path is unique and success looks different for everyone. Most importantly, I’ve learned to encourage myself along the way - celebrating small victories, giving myself grace during challenges, and taking time to pat myself on the back for how far I’ve come.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to believe in your dreams, even when they don’t make sense to others. Never compare your talents to anyone else’s - your gifts are unique and were given to you for a reason. When challenges come, remember your “why” and keep moving forward. Give yourself grace to learn from mistakes, because growth comes through experience. Most importantly pray, go hard for yourself, and keep showing up even if no one else is clapping for you yet. Believe in yourself, stay consistent, and trust the journey.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I believe my biggest challenges have never been external - they have been the limitations I placed on myself through my own thinking. Over time, I learned that what we believe in our minds can either hold us back or propel us forward. By changing my mindset, embracing faith, and believing that greater things are possible, I have been able to overcome obstacles and continue pursuing my purpose with confidence and determination.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith, compassion, integrity, service, and perseverance. I believe in trusting God to guide my path, serving others with a genuine heart, and always striving to make a positive difference in the lives of those around me. I am committed to uplifting and encouraging others, leading with kindness, and remaining faithful to my purpose even during challenging seasons. These values are the foundation of who I am and the impact I hope to have on the world.
