Micaela Lugo, CPA
Micaela Lugo, CPA, is an External Audit Associate at PwC in Chicago, Illinois. Born and raised in Ecuador, Micaela witnessed firsthand how limited access to resources and financial knowledge can impact families and communities. This early exposure inspired her to pursue a career in accounting, driven by a desire to help individuals and organizations navigate the economic landscape to create stability and growth.
Micaela earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Business Analytics from Saint Louis University and went on to complete a Master of Science in Accountancy at the University of Notre Dame. In 2025, she proudly became a licensed CPA, a milestone achieved through perseverance, hard work, and dedication while balancing rigorous studies and professional experiences at PwC and Mesa & Mesa. Her academic and professional journey reflects her commitment to continuous learning, leadership, and making a meaningful impact in the field of accounting.
Outside of her professional life, Micaela enjoys staying active by going to the gym, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys board and card games, relaxing with Netflix, and expanding her professional network. Committed to giving back, she has volunteered with her church and the Ladies of Charity, reflecting her values of service, community, and connection.

I attribute my success to my faith and the unwavering support of my family. Additionally, my dedication to providing stability in my work and my passion for helping others have been central to my growth and accomplishments.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay open-minded and embrace every opportunity that comes your way. Even when you feel exhausted, keep moving forward and stay committed to your goals. Above all, avoid making assumptions about others—you never know the challenges someone else may be facing.
