About Micayla
Micayla Diener serves as Global Events Lead at TikTok in New York, NY, a position she has held for five and a half years as part of the company's starting events team. With more than 15 years of experience in the field, she previously worked at smaller boutique event companies, opening offices and managing corporate events around the world. Diener earned her degree in Hospitality Management from Widener University in 2009. She maintains two professional certifications, CMP and CSEP. Diener is a member of the board of directors for Meeting Planners International and received the Meeting Planner of the Year award. She is passionate about mentoring professionals in her industry and volunteers weekly at Animal Haven in New York City, where she has supported animal rescue efforts for 13 years.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I always want people to continue to learn, and join an organization. You can't just go to work every day and think that you're gonna learn everything. Get involved with other organizations outside of your work. Join something, whether it's a marketing organization, whether it's a hotel organization. Things aren't going to come to you, you have to bring them to yourself.
