Michaela Abentroth

I've been an office manager for basically my whole adult life, about 14 years total, and I've been working in technology for the last 5 years. I work at Targit by Fortero, where the office is kind of like my second kid. I take care of all of our employees, handle scheduling, coordinate the trade shows we go to, deal with logistics, and really just focus on keeping the vibes up. Our team is mostly local to Tampa, although our company is based in Europe, so we travel there every year or every other year for team building. I also travel to Ohio for our field office every once in a while. Being a woman in tech is a huge challenge in and of itself, it's very male-dominated, but I think the company that I work for is actually really good about celebrating women and empowering women to be the best in this field. When it comes to big change, like when our company just got acquired last year by a bigger company, there are a lot of different perspectives and vibes around all of that, so just trying to keep everyone positive is honestly the biggest challenge I see.
