Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to staying positive, remaining humble and treating myself as a lifelong student of my craft. I’ve learned the importance of fostering relationships, continuously learning, seeking mentorship and embracing guidance.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to believe in myself, seize opportunities and foster relationships, encouragement that first came from grade school instructors in my youth as well as collegiate professors as a young adult and was reinforced by mentors and professionals throughout my broadcasting journey.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering this industry to believe in themselves, stay humble, foster relationships and be open to learning, take advantage of every internship or entry-level opportunity, as those stepping stools matter and be patient and consistent—never limit your vision to just local success. Focus on your journey. Know that whatever your journey is, it is yours. So own it! Feel free to be inspired by a page out of my book of "Being P.I.N.K. (Passionate Is Never Compromising)." Remember that skies are not the limit; they are limitless!

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now are standing out in a crowded media landscape, adapting to rapid changes in digital consumption and balancing traditional radio with evolving platforms. At the same time, there are exciting opportunities to expand into national media, host for professional sports and entertainment events, form brand partnerships and grow as a multimedia entrepreneur.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are authenticity, hard work, humility and giving back through mentorship and representation. I also believe in growing and evolving while staying true to my character, and I’m passionate about creative storytelling, media entrepreneurship and making a positive impact in the entertainment industry.
