About Michelle
Michelle Crowley serves as maintenance manager at Missouri Metals, a chapter of Samuel and Sons, a position she has held for two years. She began her career in the maintenance field in 2013, progressing from maintenance technician roles in aerospace to maintenance planner at a dairy facility, where she managed inventory, preventive maintenance, and wastewater treatment operations. Crowley earned her industrial engineering degree from East Central College in Union, Missouri in 2014 and maintains OSHA 10 and NEC certifications. She attributes her professional growth to a manager who coached her to exceed her own expectations as a mechanic. Crowley values integrity in her work, emphasizing the importance of performing tasks to the fullest capability with honesty and pride.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would actually attribute my success to one of the managers I had that would direct me and coach me. He taught me to extend myself to be a better mechanic than what I thought, to always reach for more than what I think.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice would be you just go in and do the work you know, and once your male counterparts realize that you are capable and fully capable of doing your job and know what you're doing, they will pull you into the fold and actually end up being your greatest protectors and advocates.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity. You do what you can to the fullest capability, and honestly, and be proud of your work.
