Dr. Michelle Pacheco DuBois is a passionate educator, author, and advocate for culturally responsive gifted education. With over two decades of experience in gifted and talented education, she currently serves as the Gifted Education Coordinator for the Boulder Valley School District, where she leads initiatives to identify and nurture high-potential students, with a particular focus on supporting underrepresented Latinx learners. As a first-generation college graduate, Michelle brings both personal insight and professional expertise to her work, emphasizing equity, access, and inclusive strategies in the classroom. Michelle is also the co-founder of Mosaic Minds Education, a platform dedicated to providing resources, training, and mentorship for educators serving gifted and advanced learners. She is the author of multiple books, including Supporting Gifted ELLs in the Latinx Community, Practical Strategies and Leading Culturally Responsive Gifted Programs, A Roadmap for Change which offer practical guidance and research-informed approaches for educators and administrators. Her scholarship and publications reflect her commitment to empowering educators to meet the diverse needs of gifted students. In addition to her professional work, Michelle serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where she mentors the next generation of teachers and leaders in gifted education. Her contributions to the field are recognized nationally, and she actively shares her expertise through presentations, workshops, and webinars. Driven by a mission to make gifted education accessible and meaningful for all students, Michelle continues to inspire educators, families, and communities with her leadership, vision, and dedication.

I attribute my success to my parents and their unwavering encouragement of education, which gave me both purpose and the drive to pursue my goals.

My advice to young women entering this field is to stay open to others’ ideas, listen to learn, and surround yourself with a supportive tribe that champions your vision.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are curiosity and growth, both in my work and personal life, which I nurture through writing, camping, and traveling.
