About Michelle
My mission is to support people in creating sustainable habits and their well-being, which I do through various modalities including workshops for organizations on stress, anxiety, and burnout support. I lived in San Francisco for over 16 years and worked with various organizations in that regard. I'm particularly proud that I won a contest to work with Airbnb as a client for about 3 years, where I got to present workshops for the global design team once a year. What differentiated me from others talking about burnout is that I focus on the fact that there are at least 8 different types of burnout, and if you don't treat the actual source, a person doesn't get the true result they need. I explain it simply: if you're really hungry and you go take a shower, you feel better but you didn't actually meet the actual need. After years of doing these workshops and watching people take notes furiously then go right back to their habits, I realized the information wasn't truly taking hold. I've been pivoting to focus on the embodiment aspect of things, which is why I started Joy Plus Yoga. For people to have true recovery and resilience, it's an embodied experience. I've created a program called the Embodied Vitality Method, a three-layer program that starts with supporting the nervous system and relaxing and finding calm, because nothing's really going to happen until that happens and the nervous system feels safe to actually start proceeding with moving forward.
