About Michelle

Michelle Howard serves as customer support manager at Atmos, leading all call center operations globally and domestically for North America. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and 23 years in leadership positions. Her career includes 8 years at Bridgestone Americas, from which she was laid off, and 6 years at Cummins, along with time at another filtration company. Michelle holds a degree in organizational management, which she completed last year, and a Six Sigma Green Belt certification. She is passionate about developing people, believing that employee experience drives customer experience, and focuses on operational performance, business results, and community involvement. Michelle is a member of Women Unlimited and serves as co-chair for United Way at Atmos, where she supports initiatives such as the Stuff the Bus campaign. She also volunteers with Hands on Nashville and the ALICE Community. Michelle attributes her success to her ability to change her mindset, remain agile, and think strategically, and she strategically used LinkedIn after her layoff to connect with peers and secure new opportunities without changing her status to open to work. The best career advice she has received is to never allow someone else to create your brand but to create it on your own.
