Michelle Kennedy

Michelle Kennedy is the Director of Communications for the 18th Judicial Circuit in Florida. She has spent 26 years with the judiciary. She attended Florida State University, majoring in communications, initially aspiring to legislative communications work. Her career included brief time in that field, followed by nonprofits and the sheriff's office before joining the judicial branch, where she plans to finish her career. In her role, there is no typical day; she handles writing assignments for judges, website updates, media calls about cases, tracks cases, and provides digital recordings to ensure accurate public information from official court records. Kennedy is a member of the Florida Court Public Information Officers Association for approximately 25 years and has benefited from networking with colleagues across all 20 judicial circuits as well as judicial mentors. She emphasizes having confidence in one's abilities based on advice received throughout her career.
