Michelle Kevorkian
Michelle Kevorkian serves as Volunteer Coordinator and Special Projects Lead with Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry (TPOM), where she oversees a range of initiatives supporting incarcerated and transitioning women. In this role, she teaches cognitive behavioral and anger-management classes in prisons, coordinates volunteers and applicants for transitional housing, and plans TPOM’s annual women’s event. Guided by a faith-driven philosophy, Michelle focuses on building trust, fostering resilience, and equipping women with practical skills to heal and successfully reintegrate into society, while ensuring programs are thoughtfully structured, compliant, and impactful.
In addition to her ministry work, Michelle is Director of Training and Senior Trainer at Consensus Professional Development. She specializes in designing and delivering workshops that enhance leadership, interpersonal communication, and organizational effectiveness. Drawing on her extensive experience in corporate training, sales, marketing, and business ownership, she develops programs that are engaging, results-driven, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each organization. Michelle’s approach blends practical skill development with experiential learning, helping employees improve collaboration, workplace culture, and overall performance.
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Faith Theological Seminary & Christian College and is certified as a TSC Rule 31 Family Mediator, Civil Mediator, and in Domestic Violence. Known for her professionalism, integrity, and ability to build strong relationships, she leverages her expertise across corporate and nonprofit sectors to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and create meaningful, lasting impact. Her career reflects a commitment to service, education, and leadership that bridges organizational effectiveness with personal transformation.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to consistently practice and refine my trainings while always following through on my commitments. By dedicating time to preparation and rehearsal, I ensure that every session I deliver is impactful and meaningful. Equally important, I strive to maintain integrity by doing what I say I will do, building trust with colleagues, clients, and participants. This approach has shaped my professional growth, strengthened my relationships, and reinforced my commitment to excellence in every aspect of my work.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Research nonprofits carefully, meet the team, take relevant professional classes, ensure you love the mission, consider transferable skills, and pray about the decision.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges: nonprofits often operate like businesses and may require staff to wear many hats; resources and compensation can be limiting.
Opportunities: profound chance to make a life-changing impact through prison outreach, reentry support, and mentorship.
