In her current position, she handles employee relations matters including investigations and conflict resolution while supporting six generating plants across the state. Petrozza is a member of the Palmetto SHRM chapter in the Charleston area and previously belonged to the SHRM Westchester chapter. One of her notable achievements includes doubling employee engagement survey scores from 30 percent to 70 percent in her first year with a prior organization through dedicated effort on engagement initiatives.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Michelle

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Take every day as it comes. Take time for yourself, take time to relax, take time to decompress and do your own thing. If you have to walk away from the work for 5 minutes and then come back to it, sometimes you gotta do that.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Retaining good talent and retention is declining. To really get good talent you have to train them, have mentors, coaches, proper training, good incentives and benefits.
