About Michelle

Michelle Srih is the Founder of Ritual Wellness Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California, an Ayurvedic-inspired wellness sanctuary dedicated to helping individuals cultivate greater balance, connection, and well-being. The center offers a comprehensive range of integrative services, including massage, yoga, meditation, breathwork, infrared sauna, red light therapy, Ayurvedic consultations, and Vedic counseling. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor and member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), Srih brings a multidisciplinary perspective that integrates psychology, mental health, Ayurveda, yoga, and embodied wellness. Srih began her professional career in human resources and corporate environments, where she spent approximately 10 years working with organizations across the creative, technology, animation, visual effects, and gaming industries. She subsequently devoted another decade to counseling and private practice in Vancouver, supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, depression, addiction, and other complex life experiences. Her approach incorporates a range of therapeutic and complementary modalities, including mindfulness, somatic practices, hypnosis, psychedelic therapy, energy work, yoga, meditation, and breathwork. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminology from Simon Fraser University and a master’s degree in Counselling from City University of Seattle. Srih’s approach to wellness is deeply informed by her family, cultural heritage, and personal values. She credits the strong entrepreneurial role models provided by her parents and grandparents, along with the values rooted in her Indian heritage, as important influences on her professional success. Integrity and understanding are central to both her personal and professional philosophy, and she believes in approaching work and life with intention, patience, and mindfulness. Her advice to women entering the industry is to persevere through barriers and challenges while protecting their positive energy, purpose, and sense of self. Through Ritual Wellness Center, Srih continues to bridge traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with contemporary approaches to mental health and well-being, creating meaningful experiences that support healing, resilience, and personal transformation.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Michelle

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to my family and the strong role models I have had throughout my life. My grandparents and parents demonstrated through the way they lived and worked the importance of determination, integrity, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Their example taught me to approach opportunities with confidence, work hard, and remain grounded in my values. My Indian heritage has also played an important role in shaping who I am, providing me with strong cultural values and a deep appreciation for family, perseverance, and personal responsibility.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came during a work placement in my early 20s, shortly after graduating from university. An older colleague who was nearing retirement told me that I had a very positive energy and encouraged me to make sure that, whatever work I chose, I protected that light. I did not fully understand what he meant at the time, but as I have progressed in my career, I have come to appreciate how meaningful that advice was. The work we choose can have a significant impact on our energy and well-being, so it is important to pursue work that allows us to preserve our sense of purpose, positivity, and authenticity.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is simple: do not give up. There will be moments when you encounter barriers, limitations, or ceilings simply because you are a woman, and those experiences can be discouraging. However, persistence is essential. Believe in your abilities, continue learning and growing, and remain committed to your goals even when the path becomes difficult. Challenges may slow you down, but they do not have to define your journey or determine how far you can go.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is that Ayurveda and integrative medicine have not always had the same level of scientific and evidence-based support as conventional medicine, which can lead some people to view these practices as less credible or even unconventional. However, I see a tremendous opportunity as scientific research increasingly validates many traditional approaches. We are learning more about how certain herbs, breathwork techniques, and intentional lifestyle changes can positively influence human health and well-being. This growing body of research is helping bridge the gap between traditional wisdom and modern science, creating greater understanding, credibility, and acceptance of integrative approaches to health.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and understanding are two of the values I hold most important in both my professional and personal life. I believe in approaching others with empathy, patience, and an open mind, while remaining true to my principles. I also value moving through life and work thoughtfully and mindfully, taking the time to understand situations, make intentional decisions, and respond with care rather than reacting impulsively.
