Her Story
About Michelle
Michelle Thurgood is a professional photographer with about 15 years of experience, having started by assisting a neighbor and close friend who was already established in the field. She serves as city councilwoman for Rockwell County, where she focuses on community connections, attending local events, parks, and meetings to represent her constituents' voices with integrity. Additionally, she is a Child Welfare Board Member and the area director for the Jace Yarbrough for Congress campaign. Her volunteer efforts began with five years of photography for Child Protective Services to highlight children waiting for adoption, which led her to become a licensed foster parent. Over seven years, she and her husband fostered eight babies, ultimately adopting their son Hudson. She views her ability to manage multiple roles as a gift and is passionate about coalition building and supporting legislation at state and federal levels without seeking elected office herself.
