Her Interview

Ten minutes with Michelle

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the values instilled in me by my parents. My mother encouraged me to pursue higher education, continue learning, and always treat others with kindness and respect. My father, a dedicated philanthropist, inspired me through his commitment to helping others and making a positive impact in the community. These lessons shaped my approach to both my personal and professional life, guiding me to lead with compassion, integrity, and a genuine desire to support and uplift those around me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to recognize the importance of rest, balance, and setting healthy boundaries. Learning how to say no, taking time to recharge, and prioritizing self-care allows me to continue showing up fully for the work and people I am passionate about. This advice has been especially meaningful as a caregiver, reminding me that caring for myself is essential to being able to support and serve others effectively.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to pursue a career path that aligns with their passions, strengths, and interests. Take the time to understand yourself, explore your skills, and consider using tools such as personality assessments to identify areas where you can thrive. I encourage women to seek internships, mentorship opportunities, and hands-on experiences to gain exposure before making long-term educational or career commitments. Finding a field you truly enjoy and are passionate about will provide the motivation and fulfillment needed for long-term success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity in my field right now is the continued advancement of artificial intelligence and its potential to transform healthcare by improving efficiency, decision-making, and patient care. However, with this opportunity comes the important responsibility of establishing proper governance, ethical guidelines, and safeguards to ensure AI is implemented responsibly. Finding the right balance between innovation and accountability will be essential to building trust and maximizing the positive impact of emerging technologies.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are compassion, service, and family. I believe that helping others is one of our greatest purposes, and I strive to make a positive difference through the way I support and serve those around me. Family is at the center of my life, and I place great importance on maintaining strong connections, bringing loved ones together despite distance, and caring for the older generations who have shaped and supported us. These values guide my decisions, relationships, and commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
