MiKaela Beckton

MiKaela (Mimi) Beckton is a passionate creative professional whose motto, “Creativity is key,” guides her approach to every project. Currently serving as a Document Editor at Engineering Services Network (ESN) in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mimi combines technical expertise with artistic insight, contributing to complex documentation and design projects while holding an active Security Secret Clearance. She also brings her creative talents to the world of content creation through her internship with Sports Excitement, where she develops engaging graphics, video content, and marketing materials.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Photography from Valdosta State University, Mimi has cultivated a robust skill set in digital design, photography, and multimedia content. Her experience spans various roles including graphic designer, stylist, and work-study student at the Copeland African American Museum, reflecting her versatility and dedication to blending visual storytelling with technical precision. She has earned certifications in Graphic Design Essentials and Marketing with Canva, demonstrating her commitment to staying at the forefront of modern design tools and techniques.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Mimi is an active volunteer and leader in community and campus organizations. She has served as Recording & Corresponding Secretary and Parliamentarian for the Theta Beta Chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority Inc., and as Secretary & Parliamentarian for the National Council of Negro Women. Passionate about giving back, she previously participated in the Sock Doll Project, creating handcrafted dolls to raise awareness for premature babies. Looking ahead, Mimi plans to continue her education at Regent University in 2026, further advancing her expertise and expanding her creative impact.
