About Mikayla
Mikayla Martinez is a workforce skills training and professional development professional with experience in employee guidance, skills instruction, community-based support, and workplace readiness. She currently serves as a Skills Trainer with Goodwill Industries of New Mexico in the Good Skills program at the San Mateo Store location. In this role, she teaches free classes on digital skills, employment skills, and life and wellness skills, while also conducting community outreach to audiences including high schoolers, seniors, and residents of homeless shelters. Martinez began her career as an elementary school teacher for four to five years, during which she also served in various school roles including technology support with Promethean boards and virtual learning during the pandemic. She holds an associate's degree in elementary education from CNM, having started her studies at the University of New Mexico. Beyond her professional work, she volunteers extensively with her church on six teams including women's event planning and social media, leads dance classes at a women's homeless shelter, and supports reintegration programs such as Peaceful Habitation and Queen of Heaven Church.
