About Mikki
Mickey Moss serves as Community Coordinator at Vista Bank in the South Dallas area of Dallas, Texas. With more than 30 years specializing in retail banking, she works with small business clients to help them grow, scale, and access funding while emphasizing financial literacy education through the bank's dedicated center. Moss partners with the Dallas Black Chambers of Commerce in a facility built two years ago that supports community revitalization, and she draws on her extensive background to advocate for access to capital in the Black and Brown communities. She recently joined Vista Bank after connecting with the South Dallas market president during a networking event, bringing her passion for sustainable business growth and relationship-based banking to the role.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Get to know the people that you meet. Relationship. It's all about relationship at the end of the day, because there's a bank on every corner, and people bank with people. Remember to get to know your clients, and know about their family. Be curious about who they are and what they're trying to achieve and accomplish. Because that relationship that you build, you never know what doors of opportunity it'll open for you. It's the people that they know. And in the years to come, they will follow you where you go. If you are loyal to them, and you really want to help them grow their business, they will follow you and refer back to you. So, building deep relationships is key. Don't be a transactional banker, be a relationship banker.
