My work is about building digital ecosystems that serve people and the audiences we're trying to reach. It's not just about algorithms - it's about optimizing search visibility, structuring information so it's clear and digestible, and making sure we don't forget about accessibility. I think a lot of the time, especially in higher education and communications, we forget about the diverse range of disabilities and different kinds of audiences we have. Academia can be very structured with jargon-heavy language and rigid formats, and while that's not necessarily bad, it often cuts out a lot of people from gaining that information. My goal is to make education accessible to everyone, and especially as a woman, I understand how hard it is to make your voice heard and find your path. Education gives you the tools to get there. So I focus on deconstructing complex information from the university - new opportunities, programs, funding opportunities - and taking all that jargon about financial aid and loans that can be overwhelming to a young woman trying to navigate it, and putting it in a way that's clear, concise, and told through a storytelling angle that connects with all kinds of audiences. I'm also establishing Northwood's first ever student publication, called The Fourth Word, to give students a platform to share their voices with full freedom to write about their experiences. I want to provide them with the opportunities I had, and maybe more, by sharing my knowledge and experience. I want to relate to younger women and show them they're not alone, that it's okay, the world is overwhelming, especially in the corporate world.
