Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of patience, attentive listening, and a commitment to continuous learning. My hands-on experience in retail—built both through my family’s business and my own professional journey—has been invaluable. I take a proactive approach, applying the lessons I’ve learned to solve challenges, drive improvements, and enhance profitability.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to be patient and to embrace the process of listening and learning. Success rarely happens overnight—it’s about evolving over time and applying what you’ve learned to move forward. I’ve been fortunate to have guidance from many mentors along the way, but the key lesson I’ve carried with me is that true success comes from continuous growth and thoughtful application of knowledge.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to recognize that your visibility and your voice matter, no matter your role—whether it’s in buying, analytics, or any other function. I’ve seen many talented people struggle to claim their expertise, so I encourage women to step forward with confidence, cultivate their own professional brand, and make a meaningful impact.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in our field comes from external factors—economic shifts or environmental changes—that can impact retail. These aren’t necessarily a result of mistakes, but they do require proactive strategies to maintain margins and profitability. At the same time, I see significant opportunities in leveraging AI to enhance planning and analysis. AI isn’t about replacing people or automating everything; it’s about creating efficiency so teams can focus on strategic thinking rather than repetitive tasks. That said, retail will always require a human touch—intuition, creativity, and understanding trends that AI alone can’t capture. Balancing technology with human insight presents a tremendous opportunity to innovate and grow.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life include being helpful and making a meaningful difference, embracing visibility and using my voice, approaching challenges with confidence and proactivity, and practicing patience while committing to continuous learning.
