Her Story

About Miranda

Miranda Waterbury is a Director and Principal in product and program leadership whose career sits at the intersection of fashion and technology. She began as a designer and product developer, building the tangible products people interact with every day, before shifting her focus to the platforms, programs, and technology that empower creators to work with greater speed and less friction. That evolution — from creating the product itself to architecting the systems behind it — continues to define her professional passion. Over more than 15 years in fashion technology and 20 years in the fashion industry at large, she has held roles at Nike, Victoria's Secret, and Macy's, guiding cross-functional technical product management, digital transformation, and enterprise-wide platform rollouts for organizations ranging from 3,000 to over 10,000 users.

Waterbury's expertise spans product lifecycle management (PLM), digital asset and product information management (DAM, PIM/PXM), 3D and interactive visualization pipelines, and generative and agentic AI workflows. She has a track record of translating the needs of design, merchandising, product development, and operations teams into actionable requirements, roadmaps, and lasting go-lives. Among her proudest accomplishments are cutting annual rendering costs by $5 million through the evaluation and scaling of generative AI workflows, building a business case that unlocked between $7.5 million and $22 million in projected savings and secured executive investment, and automating roughly 67,000 hours of manual work annually through streamlined pipelines and system integrations. She has also driven platform adoption into the 70–80% range through hands-on training and change management, and helped raise digital material availability from 50% to 98% by leading DAM and PIM/PXM initiatives.

A Marist University graduate with a bachelor's degree in fashion and apparel design, Waterbury went on to earn a graduate certificate in web and graphic design from Pace University, a master's degree in innovation and entrepreneurship from Full Sail University, and, most recently, her PMP certification. Having worked inside these enterprise systems herself rather than observing them from the outside, she brings a perspective that translates naturally to vertical SaaS platforms in fashion tech, PLM, and creative tools, as well as brand-side transformation initiatives. She is currently relocating to the New York metro area and is open to remote or hybrid opportunities across the Americas. Outside of her professional pursuits, she has co-led Victoria's Secret's Women's Inclusion Network and volunteers with Green Ossining in support of environmental sustainability, guided throughout by the values of authenticity and kindness.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Miranda

01What do you attribute your success to?

I owe much of my success to the great partners and leaders I've had along the way — I learned so much simply by watching and observing them. I've always had a genuine love of learning, and I refuse to become complacent; I'm constantly pushing myself to grow.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is simple: just jump in. Be an active listener and stay curious about the reasons behind what someone is asking for. If I had to name one skill to master, it's active listening — learning to ask the right questions so you can keep digging past the surface and understand what someone is really telling you, not just what they're saying on the face of it.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity and kindness are the values I hold most important, both professionally and personally.
