About Mirian
Mission-driven nonprofit leader with extensive experience in program development, organizational leadership, and community impact. Currently serving as Executive Director of the National Scleroderma Foundation, where I lead strategic initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and guide programs that support individuals and families affected by scleroderma while advancing awareness, advocacy, and research.
Prior to this role, I spent more than seven years with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts, progressing from Program Manager to Regional Director. During that time, I led high-performing teams, expanded mentorship programs, and strengthened community partnerships to support youth development and positive outcomes.
I also served as an AmeriCorps Member with Teach For America, contributing to education equity efforts, and held leadership roles with Family Service of Rhode Island, where I supported family-focused community programs.
Alongside my nonprofit career, I proudly served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for over a decade in Command Post operations, gaining valuable experience in leadership, crisis management, and operational coordination.
I am passionate about building strong organizations, empowering teams, and advancing missions that create meaningful and lasting impact in communities.
