About Mirsa

Mirsa Rudic is a dedicated educator whose career in teaching began in 1987 and continued in the United States since 2004. She has worked with the New York City Department of Education for a total of six years, including positions at charter schools in Jamaica, Queens, where she served as an English as a New Language Teacher and co-teacher in core subjects such as English and science. Rudic developed expertise in English as a second language, teaching English to speakers of other languages, and literature, drawing on her BA in Literature and Languages from Zagreb University Faculty of Philosophy and her MA earned in 2007 from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a 13-year member of the Task Force ESL, also known as the EANL Task Force, and received the Cesar Chavez award or travel award for exemplary teaching in 2011. Her approach emphasizes interdisciplinary lessons that incorporate theater, film, and the arts to engage diverse learners and support student success.
