Her Story
About Mirta
I have been in my current position since 2018, which means I've been doing this work for 7 and a half years now. My background is related to validation and qualification of equipment as an engineer, and right now I'm executing activities that are directly related to that expertise. What really inspires me in this field is the way that I can help people. For example, I worked on the COVID vaccine project with Johnson & Johnson, and that was a big responsibility, but I was so grateful to know that I was helping people to be in better health. I attribute my success to being a transparent and honest person, but also having the attitude to learn about new things and pursuing growth in my technical knowledge. That technical field knowledge has helped me a lot in my career. Throughout my journey, I've had mentors, especially women who were in positions that are more dominated by men, and they gave me good advice about not feeling less than the men because we add value to the business in equal ways that they do.

Ten minutes with Mirta
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being a transparent person and honest, but also having the attitude to learn about new things. One thing that has helped me a lot in my field is pursuing growth in my technical knowledge - really growing my knowledge in the technical aspects and technical field. That technical expertise has been crucial to my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best pieces of advice I received is no matter what happened, do your best. Always. Always do your best. That advice has stayed with me throughout my career and continues to guide how I approach my work.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say that in this time of changes, look not always to do your best, but also look for new opportunities that come your way. Don't be afraid to do new things, no matter what, because people are still afraid to change and to make changes. And then also, be out of the comfort zone. Don't let fear hold you back from growth and new experiences.
