Misty Bishop
Misty Bishop is a seasoned entrepreneur, published author, and government professor, serving as CEO of Love, Spirit, and Truth Publishing. She founded the company in 2010 to provide creative individuals with the guidance and resources to publish their work while maintaining ownership. Misty’s literary portfolio includes her first poetry book, Portrait from the Heart, Love, Spirit, and Truth, and Society: The Struggles of Hatred and Righteous Betrayal, a screenplay-style exploration of the challenges faced by Black women in society. Collaborating with her husband, visual artist Matt Bishop, she continues to produce engaging works such as Demonocracy and White-Collar Drama, blending storytelling with visual artistry to inspire readers.
A dedicated educator, Misty teaches at Houston City College, mentoring high school students who are pursuing their diploma alongside an associate’s degree. She is also deeply committed to community empowerment, hosting annual Women Empowerment events and establishing the Swag Achievement chapter at Texas Southern University, where former members have gone on to careers as lawyers, business owners, and public officials. Her approach emphasizes nurturing talent, fostering confidence, and helping individuals translate their unique skills into meaningful impact.
Misty’s professional expertise extends into the legal and public administration sectors, with over two decades of experience supporting Fortune 500 companies and public institutions in paralegal, auditing, and administrative roles. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice/Speech Communication, a Paralegal Certificate, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Texas Southern University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Public Administration and Public Policy. Across all her endeavors, Misty is recognized for transforming challenges into opportunities and inspiring others to achieve their full potential with love, spirit, and truth.
