Confidence wasn't a feeling I waited on. It was built every time I chose courage before I felt ready, until who I was becoming outweighed who I used to be.

Ten minutes with Misty
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the adversity I’ve faced throughout my life. The challenges and experiences I encountered from an early age helped shape my resilience, discipline, and ability to adapt under pressure. Those experiences strengthened my skills and character in ways that have not only guided my personal growth but also fueled my professional drive. I’ve been able to channel what I’ve overcome into purpose and performance, using it as motivation to build a stronger future for myself and to create meaningful impact for generations to come.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that I don’t need to lead with my elbows; I can lead with my heart. Early in my career, especially working in a male-dominated environment, I felt I had to be more aggressive in order to be taken seriously, and I often postured more in my language and approach than was necessary. Over time, I learned that true strength in leadership comes from authenticity, confidence, and emotional intelligence. Today, I lead with a much more grounded and compassionate approach, and I’ve found that it not only strengthens my effectiveness as a leader but also deepens my impact and the respect I receive.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The biggest advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to understand that the voice in your head telling you that you don’t belong or don’t deserve to be there is a lie. Everyone experiences those same feelings of doubt and imposter syndrome, even if they don’t always show it. It is not unique to you, and it does not define your capability or your worth. The key is to learn how to move through the noise, trust your preparation and instincts, and keep going even when you feel uncertain. Growth happens when you take action despite fear, and confidence is built through doing—not waiting to feel ready.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field right now is oversaturation. So many people are creating online courses, launching coaching businesses, and stepping into the same space, which makes it even more important to have a clearly defined message and authentic voice. The real challenge is not just identifying what you offer, but finding ways to communicate it effectively at scale so it cuts through the noise and resonates with the right audience. At the same time, one of the greatest opportunities is the continued evolution of technology and automation. With the rise of AI and advanced digital tools, there is tremendous potential to streamline operations, build smarter systems, and create automated funnels that support business growth. When used strategically, these tools allow for greater efficiency, more impact, and the ability to scale in ways that were not possible before.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity and altruism. Integrity is foundational being who I say I am, doing what I commit to, and consistently showing up to do the right thing even when it’s not the easiest path. It guides how I lead, how I make decisions, and how I build trust with others. Equally important is altruism, which for me means doing good for others without expecting anything in return. I believe in leading with service, supporting people genuinely, and contributing in ways that create value beyond myself.
