About Mohini
I currently serve as Senior Director of Federal Operations at Oracle Health Government Services, a position I began in November. In this role, I manage operations for our entire program implementing electronic health records for Department of VA facilities across the U.S., as well as for IHS and DOD clients. We're transforming the veteran experience by providing digital medical records that travel seamlessly with patients and remain consistently available to providers. My career has always centered on business operations, spanning both consulting and technology, primarily in the federal space with about 4 years in commercial service. Before joining Oracle, I spent 5 years at Microsoft, where I was brought in to help establish their new federal practice. There, I managed Transact Services, air gap and compliance, overseeing all revenue and transaction processes for federal clients to ensure everything was processed correctly, compliantly, timely, and accurately. I also managed the air gap space for classified customers, which required government clearance. Prior to my tech journey, I built my foundation in consulting, working at Bering Point, Accenture, and spending 11 years at Deloitte, where I developed deep expertise in operations that I've carried throughout my career. What I'm most proud of professionally is the way I connect with my team - I lead with empathy and genuinely care about their success, development, and growth. My LinkedIn recommendations highlight how people-centric I am as a leader. At Microsoft, I also achieved a significant win for work-life balance by successfully influencing senior leadership to change the policy that required East Coast federal teams to work until 3 a.m. for month-end close, presenting a business case that prioritized employee health and the reality of federal government hours.

Ten minutes with Mohini
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say the world is your oyster, to be honest. There's a will, there's a way. And it's just a matter of how badly you want something, and that they shouldn't operate with fear, and they should tackle that decision head-on and go for it, because the worst thing that can happen is someone might say no, and even that shouldn't dim your light. That's just another step in the process, and nothing comes easy.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In 2023, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and luckily it got caught early. That really puts life into perspective - things can change in an instant. You really have to seize the day and do things you want to do, and not let even an illness like that slow you down. My perspective now is, yes, work is extremely important, but it's not your entire life. We should work to live, not live to work. Make sure that your life is full in other areas, too, and family and friends are important, and spending quality time doing the things you love, and with the people you love, is more important, if not equally important, than climbing the ladder at work. You have to be healthy. If you're not healthy, you won't be able to perform anyway.
