About Molly
Molly Sanyour is the owner and ceramics artist of Molly Sanyour Ceramics in Atlanta, Georgia. She earned a BFA in ceramics from James Madison University and obtained a K-12 visual arts teaching license as well as certification in the IB program. Sanyour taught high school ceramics for nine years from 2014 to 2024 while building her own ceramics practice, which included creating the butt mug that gained fame through Lizzo and led to a Kickstarter campaign for mass production. She also launched her show Throwing with Molly and sold work in galleries and museums. In 2023 she left teaching to move to Atlanta and open Molly Sanyour Ceramics Studio, fulfilling her long-held dream of running a community ceramics space focused on creativity and connection.
