Her Interview
Ten minutes with Moncy
01What do you attribute your success to?
It definitely is how I was raised. My mom passed when I was young and I had to find my way in the world. I had credit issues at a young age and didn't know anything about it. To survive and find my way through, I felt it was my calling to help others. Becoming a mother, raising children, and becoming an entrepreneur all led to where I am today.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell them number one study to show yourself approved. You have to know what it is that you're speaking about because you're dealing with individuals' lives. Make sure that they have compassionate empathy. Understand their unique situation. And then of course networking.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Some of the challenges it's been just an explosion of inaccurate information on social media. I have to fight against that to give individuals the correct information. On the opportunities side, AI and staying on top of the laws. Laws are changing so much so looking for those opportunities to expand your knowledge in those areas is what's going to keep you set apart.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity. I really believe that integrity is so important especially in today's society. I am in an industry where there is sometimes it can be a scam. It's a high-risk industry and so for me being a person that individuals can know like and trust integrity is so important for me.
