About Monica
Monica Akins serves as an office manager for a company near her home while dedicating significant time to her nonprofit, Imbodin, which she started about eight months ago. The organization provides a space for people to discuss and grow from post-traumatic situations and addresses the stigma around suicide through awareness efforts, particularly in schools and among veterans. Akins is certified to speak on suicide prevention awareness and volunteers with the USO supporting military families. She founded Imbodin to continue the legacy of her son Robert, who wanted to help veterans and others facing such challenges, emphasizing solution-based advocacy and the importance of finishing what one starts.
