About Monica
I graduated from North Carolina Central University in 1994 with a major in business management and public administration. My first job was at IBM PC Direct Sales in RTP, Raleigh, doing over-the-phone sales of Lenovo and IBM ThinkPads. I started at Blue Ally 17 years ago as a senior sales rep and am one of the top reps. I sell IT solutions including infrastructure, AI capabilities, managed security with our own SOC and SIM, compliance for HIPAA and ISO, network practice, and a Microsoft practice called AllyCare. I closed a notable $12 million deal replacing VMware with Nutanix for 174 sites.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be discouraged because this is a male-dominated field. I've had my challenges but it's all worked out. You gotta work a little bit harder than the guys to get recognized and get the respect initially, but don't be discouraged. Just keep your eye on the prize, keep learning, stay sharp, stay focused, and keep pushing. Go above and beyond what the normal person would do.
