Monica Forte is the Founder and Owner of Making Magical Vacations Travel, a Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based travel agency specializing in creating personalized and memorable travel experiences for families, couples, and individuals. With 37 years of experience in the travel industry, Monica has developed extensive expertise in vacation planning, destination experiences, and client service. She is passionate about helping travelers turn their dreams into reality by carefully crafting customized itineraries that align with their unique needs, preferences, and expectations.
Throughout her distinguished career, Monica has built strong relationships within the travel industry and professional community. She actively networks through the Chamber of Commerce and various organizations while mentoring and educating emerging travel professionals. Monica credits her success to the people God has placed in her life and the guidance of her father, whose advice to “be a leader, not a follower” continues to influence her leadership style and approach to business. She is guided by core values of integrity, authenticity, transparency, and the courage to embrace new opportunities.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Monica is dedicated to service, advocacy, and community involvement. She supports several philanthropic initiatives, including Gift of Life organ donation awareness, Make-A-Wish, After Action Foundation, Catholic schools, and a foundation established in memory of her son, Tony. Her commitment to helping others reflects her deep-rooted faith, compassion, and desire to make a positive difference. Outside of her work, Monica enjoys traveling, Sunday drives, golfing, fishing, and spending time in nature, finding inspiration through meaningful connections and life experiences.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the people God has placed in my path for a reason. Their guidance, support, and encouragement have played an important role in shaping both my personal and professional journey. Above all, I recognize that my faith has been the foundation of everything I have achieved. Without God’s grace and direction, I would not have the career I have built, the opportunities I have received, or the family that continues to inspire and support me every day.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received came from my dad: be a leader, not a follower. That guidance has stayed with me throughout my personal and professional journey. No matter what path I choose or what challenges I face, I strive to lead with confidence, integrity, and purpose. I believe true leadership is about taking initiative, inspiring others, and making a positive impact in everything I do.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to be prepared for a journey that requires dedication, resilience, and commitment. Success will not always come easily, and there will be challenges along the way, but consistency, willpower, determination, and perseverance are essential. It is important to stay focused on your goals, embrace opportunities to grow, and find ways to differentiate yourself by bringing your unique strengths, perspective, and passion to everything you do.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge and opportunity in my field right now is navigating the impact of the economy. Changing economic conditions require adaptability, strategic thinking, and the ability to make informed decisions while continuing to pursue growth. I believe these challenges also create opportunities to innovate, strengthen relationships, and find new ways to create value in an evolving environment.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, authenticity, and being genuine. I believe that when you give your word, you should follow through and take responsibility for your actions. Staying true to who I am, leading with honesty, and approaching every opportunity with confidence and purpose are principles that guide me. I also value being bold, embracing challenges, and having the courage to make a meaningful impact while remaining true to my values.
