Her Interview
Ten minutes with Monica
01What do you attribute your success to?
My stubbornness and sheer determination to be good enough. I refused to not be good enough. In any situation I stepped into, I just was going to be as good or the best one in the room because I refuse to not be good enough.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Look at things as an investment, not a cost. Consider how much am I investing and what will that investment give me in the long run. That's been the shift that has allowed me to take more risk.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do not ever let anyone tell you what you're capable of. You decide what your next step is. You decide what your future looks like. Do not ever let anyone tell you what you're capable of.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities include the book publishing and speaking engagements as I build my brand professionally. The challenge is believing in myself and my abilities without a traditional reset path to success, pushing through every day to believe in my mobility, work ethic, focus and drive.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, honesty and hard work are most important to me. Someone who is honest and transparent and forthcoming, but hard work.
