Her Story

About Monica

Monica Libertino is the Head Chef and Owner of Sunset Vibe Chefs, a private chef service in the Greater Tampa Bay area of Florida. She provides personalized dining experiences including intimate events at clients' homes, Airbnbs, yacht charters, and Gulf Coast beaches, as well as hands-on culinary classes. Her business, established as an LLC in recent years and rebranded in 2019, emphasizes hospitality, connection around the table, and giving clients back their time by handling all aspects of planning, shopping, cooking, and cleanup.

Prior to her culinary career, Monica worked for 26 years as a software engineer, holding positions at AT&T, JPMorgan Chase, and UPS, from which she took early retirement. She earned a Masters of Science in Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken and later pursued a culinary honors entrepreneurship degree at Bergen Community College, graduating in 2019 while balancing her IT career and raising two children as a single parent. She is the founder of Sabor Latino Global LLC, a media platform showcasing Latino-American culture through cooking shows and stories, and one of the founders of CRESEL, the UPS Latin Business Resource Group focused on community and business connections.

Monica is actively involved in her community, building relationships with the Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club Youth Academy, collaborating with HISPA and Urban Youth Alliance, and donating to homeless ministries. She participates in Toastmasters, the Women's Impact Network, and is exploring membership in the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Her work has earned two features in Voyage Tampa Online Magazine and consistent 5-star Google reviews. Monica's career reflects a passion for service, creativity, and bringing people together, inspired by her lifelong love of cooking since age seven and her entrepreneurial spirit.
