Ten minutes with Monica

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think it's kind of equal parts humility and curiosity. When you stay curious, you're not afraid to approach things in a kind of a growth mindset, and the humility allows you to build the kind of bridges that allow you to reach across space and time to anybody.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Give yourself grace. There's a lot of things you're gonna probably unlearn. But you kind of have to identify them first, and then you can build. And like, don't shortcut the work that you're gonna do, but give yourself grace, because a lot of the circumstances we find ourselves in, in this day and age, are not of our own sign, right? And so, the challenge, I think, is to always remain adaptable and creative and open to the good that can still come.
