About Monica
I've been in my current field for a little over 4 years, but before that I had been in mortgage for over 10 years. I was laid off right before COVID, and then with the layoff and the pandemic, I was out of work for a little bit - about 2 years. When I went back to work, I kind of switched gears and moved from mortgage to private equity and hedge fund investor services. I started as an Investor Service Associate 1, and then I was promoted to a Senior Investor Service Associate 2, which gave me a little bit of confidence that I know what I'm doing and I guess I'm doing an okay job to be recognized like that. In my role, every day is what you make it. I have a lot of onboarding to do with investors coming on to the funds that I manage for private equity and hedge funds. Some other duties are admin duties, back office work, reviewing documents and making sure everything aligns with what the investors have told us about their background. I also send out monthly and quarterly account statements for those fund accounts, along with distribution letters and press releases. I really do love it and enjoy what I do.
