About Monica

Monica (Garcia) McCoy is a results-driven process optimization and strategic planning specialist, currently serving as a Document Control & Business Process Specialist at Healthcare Management Administrators (HMA). With over a decade of experience in business operations, Monica brings a unique blend of technical writing, vendor management, and process improvement expertise—bolstered by a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. She has played a key role in streamlining systems and enhancing operational efficiencies at HMA, using data-driven strategies to align business functions with long-term strategic goals.

Before joining HMA, Monica spent nearly eight years at T-Mobile, where she progressed from a Senior Specialist in financial operations to a Quality and Productivity Analyst, earning the prestigious Operational Excellence Award for her contributions. She also took a meaningful career pause to provide family caregiving during the pandemic, demonstrating her resilience and values-driven approach to both life and work. Monica is currently completing her Bachelor of Applied Science in Project Management at Columbia Basin College and remains committed to lifelong learning.

Monica credits much of her professional growth to the mentorship of Diane Burkehammer and Jenn Fulcher, whose guidance helped shape her leadership style and strategic mindset. A native Spanish speaker and active member of the Project Management Institute, she is passionate about continuous improvement, innovation, and team collaboration. Outside of work, Monica enjoys hula hooping—a hobby that reflects her energy, focus, and creativity.
