About Monica

She is a dedicated organizational development leader, project manager, and systems change strategist with over a decade of experience driving cross-sector partnerships, educational equity, and community impact across nonprofit, public, and philanthropic sectors. Currently serving as Executive Director of The Human Repair Workshop, she leads the strategy, growth, and delivery of an organizational development practice serving nonprofits, public agencies, and funders, designing trainings, facilitation, and consulting engagements that strengthen coordination, decision-making, and systems. Prior to this role, she served as Project Manager at Early Childhood Investment Corporation, managing statewide and national family-leadership initiatives, and as Postsecondary Education Associate at MDRC, focusing on systemic barriers in higher education. Her career includes serving as Director of Children and Youth Services for the City of Detroit, where she quadrupled afterschool participation and secured $1.5 million in funding, and as Manager of the Detroit Promise Path at the Detroit Regional Chamber, helping move the initiative to serve more than 1,500 students with a 12-member team. She holds a Master of Education in Urban Pedagogy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Southern California. She is recognized as a strategic, collaborative, and equity-driven leader who is deeply committed to building systems, strengthening organizations, and creating opportunities for children, youth, and families to thrive.
