About Monika
I have been in my field for 25 years now, and for the past 4 years, I've been with Accenture working on Mortgage Cadence, one of their products that powers mortgage applications for big banks like USA, HSBC, and Morgan Stanley. I was brought in when the company was struggling with regression testing and clients were ready to leave the product. I set up the quality assurance department from the ground up, establishing all the different rigors of testing, test strategy, and guardrails around how releases should be done. I grew the team from 30 people to 89 people, with teams located both onshore and offshore. I work mostly with executive stakeholders, including CEOs and CIOs, advising them on testing strategies. My main area of expertise is complete transformation - taking up companies or processes that have not been working, putting discipline around those processes, and getting results. Before Accenture, I worked with Boston Consulting Group across retail, telecom, and health clients, and before that with Capital One. Currently, I'm working extensively with AI, particularly Agentic AI, setting up tools for testing and using AI to improve internal testing processes. I'm very hands-on - about 50% of my work is strategy and 50% is hands-on, working directly with my teams on automation frameworks and new AI tools. One of my biggest achievements has been helping clients reduce their testing time from 6 months to one month, delivering significant ROI.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would suggest that they have to be very adaptable, they have to keep learning, always stay close to the field that you're working on, always be very close to it, stay hands-on, that's really important. And strategy is not enough. You have to be hands-on, you need to keep learning as you progress.
