Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my upbringing and the strong work ethic instilled in me by my family. My parents emphasized the importance of finishing what you start and always giving your best effort, and my father’s 30 years of military service, along with my family’s involvement in civil rights, deeply shaped my discipline, resilience, and commitment to purpose-driven work.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always strive to “level up” and never settle. While I can’t recall a single specific phrase, this consistent guidance has shaped how I approach my career—continuously seeking growth, embracing new challenges, and pushing myself to improve beyond my current position.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering my industry to listen to those with more experience and learn from their guidance. While it’s important to develop your own voice and perspective, valuing the knowledge and lessons of your elders can provide a strong foundation, help you avoid common pitfalls, and support your professional growth.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in my field right now is how rapidly it is evolving, particularly with the rise of AI and increased competition. Staying competitive requires continuous learning, active networking, and consistently keeping up with technological advancements. At the same time, these changes also present significant opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and growth for those who are able to adapt quickly.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me in both my work and personal life are integrity and treating others the way I would want to be treated. I strive to act with honesty, fairness, and consistency in everything I do, while also showing respect, empathy, and consideration for others in all interactions.
