Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to someone who believed in me and gave me the opportunity to prove myself. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have that kind of support, and I recognize the difference it can make. Although this was not the career path I initially envisioned, someone saw potential in me and encouraged me to take on the challenge. That belief in my abilities and the trust placed in me were pivotal in shaping my growth and success. Today, I carry that forward by believing in my own abilities and striving to inspire that same confidence in others.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Approach each day as a learning opportunity. Whether the experience is positive or challenging, every situation offers a lesson. Mistakes should not be viewed as failures but as valuable learning experiences that foster growth and development. I firmly believe in this mindset, and as we train new managers, we emphasize that it's okay to makes mistakes because that's how you learn, evolve, and strengthen your capabilities as a leader.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be afraid to ask questions, take risks, or make mistakes as each is an opportunity to learn and grow. Have confidence in your abilities and believe in the value you bring to the table. I also believe it's important to have a mentor who can provide guidance and support while helping you navigate everyday challenges and professional development.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I believe there are always opportunities for growth and impact within the HR field. Once of the most important is how we prepare and support the next generation. As HR professionals, I see our role as both leaders and mentors - helping others grow not only in their careers, but also as individuals. I value the exchange of learning, asking, "What can I teach you"? but also, "What can I learn from you"?

In my current role as and HR manager, I make it a priority to engage directly with the employees across all areas of the organization. Whether it's visiting the warehouse or connecting with other departments, I believe in working alongside our teams to understand their challenges, identify ways to support them, and help them succeed. Equally important is giving employees a voice and empowering them to grow within their roles.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Respect is a core value for me. I believe in treating others the way I would want to be treated, regardless of the situation. Even in difficult circumstances, such as terminations or tough conversations, it's essential to approach people with dignity and empathy. Trust is equally important, as it forms the foundation of meaningful relationships and effective teamwork. Clear and open communication is also critical both personally and professionally - to build understanding, alignment, and mutual respect.
