Her Interview

Ten minutes with Monique

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stay Curious. Organizations are always looking for "Rookie Smarts", so don't be intimidated add value immediately.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The landscape of Athletics has totally changed with the New Student-Athlete Movement. Some Administrators are being paid less than the student-athletes, some support staff positions are being eliminated and lastly compliance decisions are fluid. These factors make it difficult to get foothold and excel in the profession. The good thing if you have not been socialized into "this is how it has always been done" than you may fair well in the profession.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value the ability to grow and create knowledge, meaning I value learning and research.
