Her Interview
Ten minutes with Monique
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say diversity in skills and my imagination. My parents really instilled in us when we were kids, is have an imagination. If you have an imagination, you can literally do anything. And you can accomplish anything, because that's how they created their world, was through imagining what they wanted.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
From my dad. He always told me when I was in school that I needed to make the right choice for myself, because the right choice for somebody else might not be right for me. Make sure you have lots of skills. Diversity wins in the fields sometimes. A degree might not always be there for you, but skill set will always be there for you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
To be to get as many skills as you possibly can to diversify your skill set. If you can diversify your skill set, even with AI, and on to the market, diversifying your skill set is one of the most important things that anyone. Especially nowadays, with how much it's changing so rapidly, you're going to want to be diversified as possible, so that way you can fill as many roles as there's going to be open, because it's going to change.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges are what we're facing with the healthcare industry changing on a massive scale. Our entire systems are dissolving, and so all of the things that we built this healthcare system on are falling, and we need to be there to support our nurses and our carers and our doctors who are gonna be going through so much transition and so much change in the next 3 to 5 years. They're gonna need to have Earth-based practices to help them ground in, so that they are not just giving from an empty cup.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value integrity and honesty and family. Those are my I guess integrity and honesty are the same thing. My family, integrity, and then Wellness, just being able to communicate what you need, and being able to express how you want to express yourself in the world. Trying to raise two kids to be able to do that in this world is kind of crazy.
