About Montica

Montica Talmadge is a political nonprofit professional with expertise in nonprofit professional policy strategy. She first approached an organized political party in 2004 to volunteer and has been involved in political work since then, transitioning to professional politics in 2018 after leaving corporate positions. Talmadge worked as a field director on her first congressional race and later served as state director for organizations including Lillian's List in North Carolina, where she focused on recruiting, supporting, and training women running for office who support gender equity and are pro-choice. She developed a passion for reproductive work and engaging women from underrepresented communities in public service. In 2022, Talmadge returned to North Carolina A&T State University, her original school from 1997, and graduated in May 2025 with a degree in political science with honors. She is a member of the North Carolina A&T State University Alumni Association, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Daughter of the Imperial Court, and she volunteers with her church and as secretary of a high school booster club.
