About Montrella

Montrella Rhodes is a business leader, entrepreneur, author, and project management professional who has built her career around turning ideas into action and helping people and organizations grow.

Since 2018, she has served as Executive Administrator of the Food Truck Association of Georgia (FTAG), where she manages daily operations, projects, vendor and partner relationships, programs, and key organizational initiatives. Her work has given her a unique perspective on entrepreneurship—not only from building her own ventures, but from working closely with business owners navigating the everyday realities of growth.

Montrella is the founder of The Rhodes Group LLC and The Rhodes Group Press and the author of Beyond the Window: Lessons in Entrepreneurship from the Food Truck Industry. Through her writing and entrepreneurial work, she encourages business owners to look beyond the visible signs of success and focus on the systems, relationships, leadership, and intentional decisions that sustain it.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services with a minor in Human Resource Management, complementing her people-centered approach to business and leadership.

At the heart of Montrella’s work is a simple belief: success should be meaningful. She values family, faith, service, strong relationships, and creating opportunities that make a lasting difference. Whether managing a project, building a business, supporting entrepreneurs, or writing her next chapter, she is committed to leading with purpose and leaving things better than she found them.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Montrella

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to staying humble, continuing to learn, and being willing to take on new challenges. My experience across operations, project management, client relationships, business development, and entrepreneurship has taught me to remain adaptable, keep learning, and follow through on the work that needs to be done.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to remain humble and continue learning. No matter how much experience I gain, there is always something new to understand, another perspective to consider, or an opportunity to improve.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young professionals entering the food truck industry or any entrepreneurial environment is to do your research and seek out mentorship. Take the time to understand the industry, learn from people who have experience, and build relationships with individuals who can provide guidance. Being prepared and having the right mentors can make a significant difference as you grow.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the opportunities I am pursuing is sharing the lessons I have gained from the food truck industry through my book, Beyond the Window: Lessons in Entrepreneurship from the Food Truck Industry. One of the challenges associated with that opportunity has been navigating the self-publishing process. It has required me to learn another side of entrepreneurship while managing the many details involved in bringing a book to market.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My leadership is grounded in faith, family, integrity, service, and purpose. These values shape how I make decisions, build relationships, and serve others. I lead with accountability, treat people with respect, and believe leadership is about creating opportunities, solving problems, and making a meaningful impact—not simply holding a title.
