Her Story
About Morgan
Morgan Bowman serves as a non-profit administrative assistant in Merrimack, New Hampshire, a role she has held for four years. She began this position after high school, drawing on family connections in the field. Currently enrolled in IU Online, Morgan is pursuing a bachelor's degree in data science, with plans to graduate in spring 2027. She founded and presides over an online student organization at Indiana University, the first of its kind to connect students across online and in-person campuses. Her work has earned recognition from Indiana University, including an invitation to an awards ceremony in November. Morgan has completed fellowships with Democracy House and the All In Campus Democracy Challenge, which have strengthened her focus on advocacy and organizing. She attributes her success to determination and a drive to make change, guided by values of integrity, reliability, and humility. Looking ahead, Morgan hopes to attend law school and work at the intersection of technology, privacy, and public policy, with an emphasis on advocacy and education.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute a lot of my success to probably just, like, determination, honestly. I think, a lot of it comes from that, and just, like, a drive to kind of make a change.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to keep going, although it's hard, but make sure that to speak up if you think that something can be different, because one idea can go a long way.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Some of the biggest challenges would probably be maintaining funding, expanding and staying afloat. There's a lot of opportunities for innovation, new things that can come out, and things are always changing.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I would say the values that are most important to me would probably be integrity. Reliability, and then, like, being humble, as well.
