Q

What do you attribute your success to?

As a coach, the biggest differentiator is the ability to listen beyond what is verbally being said. People will often discuss surface level issues, such as frustrations in their career or relationships, uncertainty in how to have a tough conversation, etc. However, the real issue tends to live below the surface: fear, conflicting values, or habits that no longer serve their goals. What defines my success is the ability to help people identify these patterns without making them feel judged and thereon turning insight into action.

As a Talent Director, my success comes from seeing potential in individuals and understanding or identifying a fit – not just who is talented, but where they can thrive. When making talent decisions, it is imperative that you balance skill, personality, adaptability, and timing.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

“Clear is Kind”

In the words of Brene Brown, this phrase has always stuck with me.

·        You cannot hold people accountable to expectations that haven’t been made clear to them.

·        Not having a difficult conversation is often rooted in your own fear and this is selfish behavior. It is unkind to not give others the opportunity to change, grow, develop, or recognize their own opportunities because of your own discomfort.

“Pay attention to patterns, not moments”

One fantastic interaction, or one horrific day rarely tells the full story. Consistent behavior over time is the best predictor of character, performance, and leadership potential.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Get comfortable giving honest feedback. Difficult conversations are part of the role: the goal is always to be clear and direct, while maintaining respect.

Work on building emotional intelligence: You will work with different personalities, conflicts, expectations, and pressures. The ability to stay calm, objective, and empathetic is essential.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Generally speaking: Managing human expectations – especially when growth, success, or change takes longer than people want it to.

As a Coach, one of the more difficult tasks is moving insight into action. Individuals often know what they should do, but fear of failure, comfort zones, or inconsistent habits keep them stuck. The ability to work through this requires genuine empathy, patience, curiosity, and grace.

As a Talent Director, the challenge is often balancing potential with reality. Despite an individual having unsurmountable capabilities, factors such as timing, discipline, mindset, or team dynamics can affect whether that potential becomes performance. Talent alone rarely guarantees success.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Empathy, accountability, respect, and consistency.

Accountability because it shifts you from a passive participant to an active driver of your destiny. When you embrace accountability, you reject the role of a victim of external circumstances and choose instead to own your actions, decisions, and their eventual outcomes.

Empathy because acts as the primary foundation for deep human connection, effective collaboration, and psychological well-being.

Respect because it establishes the absolute standard for human dignity, personal boundaries, and fair treatment. While empathy focuses on feeling what others feel, respect focuses on honoring who others are, creating the essential structure for safety.

Consistency because it forms the foundation of trust, predictability, and long-term progress.
