Her Story
About Morgan
Morgan Hillman serves as Senior Director of Sales at Abrams Books, where she oversees sales channels covering independent bookstores and school and library accounts, primarily K-12 with some higher education. With nearly 20 years in publishing, she has gained experience across companies of varying sizes, including running the sales department at a small children's-only publisher, working at HarperCollins, and spending most of her career at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. She holds an undergraduate degree in world literature from UC San Diego, during which she spent a year studying abroad in France, and completed a project management certificate program at Boston University. Morgan is passionate about books and literacy, having entered sales by accident after aspiring to editorial roles but discovering her strength in relationship building and finding the right books for the right readers. She enjoys mentoring the next generation of publishing professionals and values authenticity when connecting with independent booksellers, librarians, and educators.
