Her Story

About Morgan

Morgan Hulsey serves as Branch Sales Manager at Arvest Bank in Mission, Kansas. In this role, she manages a team of three associates, conducts daily huddles to set goals, provides coaching and consistent one-on-ones, and works to build a strong, positive team environment focused on educating and serving customers. She began her professional journey in healthcare, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in skilled nursing facilities, home health and hospice settings, and hospital med-surg units while pursuing her education. After earning her Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy from Neosho County Community College, she worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a couple of years before transitioning to banking to achieve better work-life balance with her family. Starting as a Relationship Banker, she progressed through Relationship Banker levels 1 through 4 (the latter also known as assistant branch manager), managed a small format branch for about a year, and then advanced to her current position about a year ago. Hulsey attributes her success to a strong work ethic instilled from starting work at age 14 or 15 as the child of a single mother who held multiple jobs, combined with dedication, goal-driven motivation, and core values of being reliable, consistent, communicative, and a servant leader who prioritizes integrity and presence for her team, customers, and family.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Morgan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I had to start working at a very young age because my mom was a single mom and she worked 3 jobs so we all kind of jumped in on the train of getting to work. I started working when I was around 14-15 .That lead to having a good work ethic instilled into me at a very young age. So just keeping that mindset open and then putting down the hard work being dedicated to my work and then really being goal-driven and motivated has led to a lot of my success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Mistakes mean that you are trying. You just need to learn from your mistakes and stay open to continuously learning through out your career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My favorite quote is never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. Stepping out of your comfort zone can teach you many things. Be brave, say yes and stay open minded.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think the biggest opportunity I have in my field right now is connecting more with the community and giving back.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I think just being reliable, consistent, communicating openly and trying to lead with integrity as well as being a servant leader. Being present for the people whether it's my family or the people here at the branch such as my internal and external customer. Just trying to be there for them anyway I can.
