Her Interview

Ten minutes with Morgan

01What do you attribute your success to?

Definitely my community and my village. Ever since I was young, I've had nothing but people pouring positivity into me. I can remember growing up and going to church. There was this older gentleman, every Sunday morning when he saw me, he told me that I was gonna do great things, and that's always stuck with me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Definitely always fill out the application. No matter your qualifications, if it says that they're looking for somebody with these certain skill sets, if you look at that job description, and that you know you can fulfill those tasks, go ahead and fill out the application. The worst they can say is no.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say always know that there is never a glass ceiling. And I feel like a lot of people in my industry, in leadership support or administrative assistants. Like, we know how capable we are, and we know that sometimes our opinions or decisions maybe on the back burner, but just keep your organization skills to the front of your mind, and make each day just a day of success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

CEOs or any other C-suite level professional, not necessarily knowing how to use an assistant or executive assistant to the best of their ability to leverage success for the entire organization. I feel like some leaders may need just like a little training in how to be hands-off and trust the people that you hired or selected to be a part of your team to do what they're capable of.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I definitely value integrity. And accountability. I expect for people to hold me accountable, just as I will them.
